It’s Day 3 of the Holiday Recess and if your kids have already tired of playing with their new toys and watched more than enough TV – it’s time to get out of the house for some entertainment! Take a look at some last minute family-friendly events you can check out for the remainder of the break:
Winter Fun-Cation Camp at the Long Island Aquarium
Thursday, December 29th and Friday, December 30th 9am – 5pm
Price: $50 per day.
If you’re working during the break, consider dropping the kids off for a day of fun at the Long Island Aquarium. Appropriate for ages 6-13, kids will tour the Aquarium, feed the sting rays, check out the Sea Lion Show, visit the Arcade, watch a movie, make some crafts and more! Spend a day at the Vanderbilt
Thursday, December 29th – Saturday, December 30th & Monday, January 2nd noon – 4pm
Price: Varies based on age/student.
Thrills and wonders await you in the Vanderbilt Reichert Planetarium! Choose from a seasonal show like Season of Light or Laser Holidays (a musical laser show), or from other educational and fun programs for visitors of all ages. Admission gives you access to the Estate Grounds, Marine Museum Galleries, Mansion Memorial Wing Galleries, Nursery Wing, and Stoll Wing and Habitat Dioramas.
Bayville Winter Wonderland at the Bayville Adventure Park
Wednesday, December 28th – Sunday, January 1st noon – 10pm (9pm on Sunday)
Price: $22.50 per person + sales tax.
Come one, come all – it’s your last chance to experience Long Island’s annual winter holiday park! Bring your kids each day starting at noon to enjoy the Bayville Holiday Express Train Ride, Blizzard Bay’s Arctic Skating Adventure, a Magical Meeting with Santa, Captain Bay’s Yo-Ho-Holiday Light Show and more!
Countdown to 12 at the Long Island Children’s Museum
Saturday, December 31st noon – 4pm
Price: Free with Museum admission – $13 per person. $12 for visitors over 65. Free for Members.
Get your New Year’s celebrations started early – with TWO ball drops! Spend the day making New Year’s party favors (think hats, noisemakers, and whistle necklaces), enjoy live music and confetti filled dance parties! All activities are drop-in and run from noon – 3:45pm while supplies last!
