Invisalign® offers a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a customized series of clear plastic aligners rather than traditional brackets and wires. Virtually invisible, Invisalign® aligners are discreet and comfortable, making them a popular choice with many of our patients.

The process of getting Invisalign Teen® begins with a consultation so we can determine whether it’s the right fit for your child. If you decide to move forward with Invisalign, we will take digital impressions of their teeth, which allows us to create a three-dimensional model of their smile and bite on our computer. With this model, we can show you a preview of what their smile will look like once treatment is complete; we also use this model to plan the precise movements of each tooth throughout their treatment.

Invisalign Teen® minimizes the number of office visits because rather than having to make frequent appointments to have braces adjusted, your child will change to a new set of aligners every week or two, or as directed. Teens appreciate the flexibility of clear aligners because they can remove them for short periods, allowing them to brush and floss as normal and eat foods that are usually off-limits with braces. As treatment progresses, your child’s teeth gradually shift into the correct positions. Treatment generally lasts a year or so, but we can provide you with an estimate during your child’s consultation.

Yes, Invisalign® is worth getting—not only for a more beautiful smile, but also because straighter teeth are healthier teeth! When your teeth are easier to floss and brush, you have a lower risk of tooth decay. By improving the bite, Invisalign® can result in a more balanced profile and prevent abnormal wear on the teeth.

The advantage of Invisalign® aligners is that they can be removed, but it’s important to wear them for 20 to 22 hours a day. When you start making a habit of removing your aligners and keeping them out for extended periods, it can lengthen your total treatment time.

Just like with braces, you will need to maintain your results from Invisalign® by wearing retainers as directed.

Any orthodontic treatment will change the shape of your face if you have a bite problem, but the changes are for the better. You’ll have improved facial symmetry and a more balanced profile.

Dental insurance coverage can vary from one provider to the next, but many plans that cover orthodontic treatment will cover the cost of Invisalign® up to the price of traditional metal braces.
